CAPA Kicks off the year at City Cafe' on Jones Creek

On Sunday, February 28, 2010, CAPA held it's annual steak dinner. This event kicked off the year and our membership drive. In a packed room, CAPA members were treated to a steak dinner compliments of Abbott Pharmaceuticals. The dinner featured an educational presentation by Dr. David Carmouche, of Baton Rouge. Dr. Carmouche, who specializes in lipidology gave a very informative talk on lipid-lowering strategies, highlighting the therapeutic use of niacin-namely Niaspan.

After the talk, Tracy Landry, out-going President, introduced the new officers for the 2010 year.

The new officers met briefly after the dinner to discuss the upcoming CRAWFISH BOIL and strategies to promote CAPA as a whole.

Mr Howard Bolton also addressed the crowd about the Jambalaya Lunches which will be held on March 8th and 22nd. It will be held at the Baton Rouge Clinic on Perkins Rd. and all proceeds will benefit

the Saint Vincent De Paul's free Pharmacy.
